Our Nutrition Level 1 course is perfect for those who are looking to improve their nutrition at in all aspects of their life.
This course could also offer valuable information for a team leader hoping to provide training to their team on how to look after their nutritional health and looking for some tips to improve their staff experience and lead their team towards better workplace health and performance.
Course Objectives
The objective of the course is that learners will understand that what you put into your body contributes to what you get out: this applies to your body as much as it does to professional projects. In this course you can expect our master planners to guide you through a comprehensive overview of the foundations of nutrition knowledge and de-bunk common myths and misunderstandings.
Duration
We would estimate this course takes between 3 - 5 hours, with each module taking around 35 minutes. We would highly recommend also allowing some time after each module to identify ways to apply the knowledge to your own situation, as this is a great way to get a deeper understanding of the information we have provided.
Course Content
Introduction
An overview of what the course aims are, and what you can expect.
Module 1 – Principles of Good Nutrition
This module will talk through some of the primary nutrition theories and methods and how you can relate these to their likely effects in real life.
Module 2 – Food Groups and Functions
Learn how the most frequently used categorisations of the food types we put into our bodies and examples of the motivations people likely have for consuming more or less of each of these groups.
Module 3 – Body Composition
Firstly, we will look at the biology of body composition. We’ll then progress to factcheck common beliefs and misconceptions and a discussion of identifying a healthy body composition range for yourself and others.
Module 4 – Wellness & Vitality
Continue the guided journey on how to assess foods and food combinations.
Module 5 – Optimising Nutrition Planning
Get a deep understanding of ethical and safe trial of nutrition planning techniques. By now, you should certainly be aware that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. You should also have a good grasp of what is and isn’t likely to be beneficial for certain body types or target outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the principles of good nutrition are and how to apply them in your own nutrition planning.
- Gain an understanding of the different food groups, their functions and how to fact-check food claims.
- The basics of body composition and how nutrition affects this.

Tests & Certification
At the end of each module, you will have the opportunity to take a quiz to back up the knowledge you have just learned.
For each quiz you complete successfully, you will receive a soft copy certificate (printable PDF) verifying your studies and at the end once you have completed the entire course you will get an official certification certificate from Make Me A Plan.
During your course you will also receive achievement badges along the way, to mark your progress and help you celebrate your goals as you reach them.
