ACTS OF CHRISTMAS KINDNESS
Kindness is good for us – and good for other people. In fact kindness is connected to both our psychological and spiritual happiness. Kindness promotes empathy which helps us to feel more connected to others and helps us to foster a sense of community. This is why volunteering can be so important. It helps other people and in turn that makes us feel good and helps us to develop a positive and happier outlook – it’s a win, win!
After the year we have had it is nice to think of communities coming together and individuals looking out for each other; doing something nice to put a smile on someone else’s face. It doesn’t really matter who or how, but simple acts of kindness can really help to spread some positivity and bring some humanity back to an otherwise isolated year. Maybe a stranger in the supermarket who doesn’t have the change to buy the paper that they wanted or dropping in to see the lady down the road who lives alone? How about cookies to the family across the street? An act of kindness doesn’t have to be elaborate to mean something – it could be as simple as sending a Christmas card but what better way to bring cheer this Christmas.
Have a lovely Christmas everybody and here’s to a hopefully, more social New Year!
