ON JANUARY

The Philosopher-in-Residence Blog Series from Make Me A Plan's Principal Planner, Anna Pascoe
16.01.2025.

Did you start January with the best of intentions regarding a new year, new you? Did this entail planning to completely change everything you felt was unsatisfactory in your work life, nutrition, home life, exercise regime, self-care, wellbeing and anything else you could have levered a change into?

If so, has this approach proved a tad overwhelming and underperforming thus far?

If you want to pick achievable targets that won’t take over your whole life, but will make a noticeable difference, here is my Top 5:

  1. Get up at the same time 5 days out of 7.
  2. Allow yourself 10 minutes more than usual at the beginning of the day.
  3. Eat 1 or 2 more servings of fruit or veg than you do currently, each day.
  4. Get 10-20 minutes of fresh air each day.
  5. Spend 10 minutes a day reading, listening to a podcast, music or meditation.

If these work for you, let us know! (Heads up: They won’t if you don’t try them ?

Next fortnight, I’ll be writing On Soap. Stop by and see what my fresh approach is on this topic.

Please get in touch with any particular aspects of this subject you’d like me to write about.

In the meantime,

Happy Planning
