ON LEAPS

The Philosopher-in-Residence Blog Series from Make Me A Plan's Principal Planner, Anna Pascoe
29.02.2024.

Since we only get one February 29th every 4 years, and we’ve never had one since the inception of the good shup MMAP, this Philosopher-in-Residence would like to duly mark the occasion by musing On Leaps.

Regular fans of plans will be familiar with the United Plandom’s unique brand of quality, motivational career and self-development advice.

Since leaps are all about moving forward, herewith our top tips to that end/middle/beginning.

Look forward to things. We often have a tendency to focus on the imperfect, or feel some disgruntlement about the bores and chores in our diaries. Book in and be focused on at least on fulfilling thing.

Eager beavers achieve more. This doesn’t mean being a slave to the hamster wheel of presenteeism. Rather, that eagerness is a positive mindset and a great habit that can get rusty or get gleaming in direct correlation with the amount of practise you invest. Try being actively eager about at least one thing each week.

All that glisters is not gold. We all need a basic level of income, but beyond that make sure your life/work goals aren’t all financial. Sometimes it’s about seeing a bird sing at sunrise.

Please yourself. In whatever interpretation of the phrase that works for you.

Show yourself progress. Keep a note of incremental leaps you aim to make. Be accountable and allow yourself time to pat yourself on the proverbial back and absorb what’s helped you flourish.

Next fortnight, I’ll be writing On Screens, in the next instalment of the ScreenFree Sunday Series. Please get in touch with any particular aspects of this subject you’d like me to write about.

In the meantime,

Happy Planning
