SUMMER IN FULL SWING!
Hello there, Fans of Plans! I am writing this blog for you on a sunny Sunday from my garden. It’s great when you can take your work outside and enjoy the cooling breeze on your face and listen to the birds chirping.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about the outdoors and trying to get out as much as possible. I even ventured to the summer solstice at Stonehenge, but was back in time to be behind my desk at 8am!
We all need to carry out our full working days, but we also want to be able to enjoy the nice weather. So here are a few things you can be doing to make sure you are still making the most of your summer, while keeping on track with work…
- Get up early! Lighter mornings mean we can get up and out – even if it’s just a 10 minute walk before work or before starting your commute. It can really help set you up for the day and actually energise you!
- Make the most of your lunchbreak. We are all entitle to a break in our working day – so plan ahead and see what you can do. Maybe take a packed lunch to the local park, or organise a walking group with colleagues. Make sure you have sun screen etc. handy though!
- After work activities. It can be so tempting to finish work and get stuck straight into chores (cooking dinner, making sure the kids are doing their homework etc.), or just vegging out on the sofa. But have a think – do I need to do that today? Or can I go out and enjoy the nice weather? Perhaps take the family out after work for an activity like paddleboarding, or play games in the park. You could even grab some picnic items and that’s dinner sorted too!
Making the most of our time can sometimes feel a bit exhausting, and like you are always on the go. But take time to plan these things, so that when a sunny day comes around you are ready and all you have to do is be there!
By taking time to do these small activities on working days, you really will feel like you had a bit more of a summer than just one or two weeks off.
