THE URGENT/IMPORTANT LIST

The Working Well Series from Make Me A Plan Productivity Expert, Aria Robbins

There was something I heard while listening to a podcast the other day, it’s something my partner talks about often and has been attributed to many successful people’s efficient productivity throughout their day.

As the name implies, it is a list. It looks a little like this;

URGENT                      |                IMPORTANT

|

|

|

|

|

At the top of the list is our headings. Now, I don’t mean to tell you how to suck eggs here but I’m gonna run you through this.

URGENT – a task that is time sensitive and needs to be done urgently.

IMPORTANT – a task that is important to get done however, is not as time sensitive as the URGENT list.

Top of the list = most urgent/important.

Bottom of the list = least urgent/important.

Okay, I think that covers the schematics of it.

This list is a useful tool many people use to manage their tasks throughout the day so they are aware of their urgency and in which order to accomplish them to get the most effective and successful productivity out of their day.

Small ways in which we update the way we work and organise our days have a huge effect our output and productivity.

We would love to hear how you make the most of your day and what productivity tips you have. Send a message to our Social Media platforms (@MakeMeAPlan) or send us an email!
